2004 Jeep Cherokee depressing brake pedal & no rear bra

when the headlights are not running on my vehicle & the brake pedal is depressed both rear brake lights will illuminate - if the headlights are on & you depress the brake pedal only the drivers side rear brake light will illuminate, while the passenger side brake light will go completely out

ground wire
check it
also make sure you have the correct bulb and installed
