2001 Jeep Cherokee "Perform Service" Light

2001 Jeep Cherokee V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic

My vehicle iwas bought in the USA but is now in a foreign country and the mechanic that the performed the 3months maintenance service doesn't know how to remove the "Perform Service" light - how can I do it - this is the light that appears on the overhead console - i did try to remove by pressing the mileage counter but it went to oo and nothing happened to the light - please help

This is what Jeep asks you to do. Or you can try this: Key on engine off, depress accelerator 3 times to the floor within 10 seconds. If that doesn't work, the you have to try the Jeep way.
