2001 Jeep Cherokee Can't turn the key

2001 Jeep Cherokee All Wheel Drive Automatic 151966 miles

I drove the car early Sunday morning. Went back to the car later on in the day and I was unable to turn the car on. The key won't turn. When I used the autostart feature on the carkey, it turned on - but I'm unable to use the key to turn the car on. Please help!

See my profile, I do not know your rig, but I am willing to submit a stupid answer, just to try to help!

What about, playing with the shifter, while trying to turn it?

What about pulling steering wheel Right/Left, while trying the Key?

Told you upfront, it was a stupid answer.
