I just bought a used Jeep for my daughter and it makes a high pitched whistling sound when she accelerates which silences when she steps on the brake. I would like to know what this is before I take it to Jeep. I may not be anything major but I do not want tobe surprised when I have to fix it. Can you help?

Hi nwatts57,

Thank you for the donation.

It is difficult to determine what is causing the noise as we do not know what type of noise is emitted.

First guess is belting noises. Dose the noise appears when starting and revving the engine?
When AC or any other electrical load is present, does the noise increase in level?

Does the noise disappear when accelerator pedal is not depressed? Noise only disappear when pressing the brakes?
