Please help, I am at my wits end. I have a 1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo 4 wheel drive 6 cylinder with 150,000 miles. It has been troublesome for about 4 weeks now. Problem is it is dying while driving down the road, sometimes it starts back up within a few minutes, other times within hours. It will crank over but not start. My husband replaced the distributor, rotor, 2 coils, altenator and says my fuel pump is working. We get fuel, and air, but no spark. The key on/off test says code 11. Why are we not getting spark? Can you help me PLEASE?

I had a similar problem with my 1996 Cherokee, fixed it. I responded to another post with a similar problem ALSO, so I'll refer you to that post instead of repeating the same info again. Go to the post with the title "Won't Start" near the bottom of the first page. If you don't see it, check the second page in case it's been shifted back.
Your self-diagnostic code "11" means "No crank reference signal to computer", meaning that your Crankshaft Position Sensor is most likely bad. Mine was located near the top of the transmission bell housing, driver's side, accessible from underneath, has two bolts holding it in place, and will have a small diameter wire harness leading from it up to the top of the engine. Check for the dirty connector, melted or broken wires (the harness runs across part of your intake manifold). If you should decide to replace it, it's about 60.00 at the auto parts store.
Good Luck.
