My 96 cherokee has black soot around the tail pipe. After I drive it then stop say for 10 or so minutes then restart it acts like it is flooded. Can it be a bad fuel injector. It will clean up with some throttle. Please help.

See my profile,

I do not know your rig well

It could be several issues

Read this post (keeps my hunting and pecking to a minimum)

The Fellers at those parts stores can be very helpful, sorta a FREE DIAGNOSTIC MECHANIC!....They deal with this stuff daily, and know things well.

I generally try to scope out a feller who is mature and been there a while.........He is the one I count on for accurate assistance...........

I also try to maintain a good REPORE at the parts house....Cold softdrinks in a cooler, when its hot out, will make you a friend fast!

Computer stuff on a rig is my weakness, the parts stores have taught me alot about them.

Sometimes inoperable O2 sensors can cause the "RICHNESS" in your system (you may have more than one O2 Sensor)

Let me know how it goes
