I just replaced my spark plugs and wires to fix a rough idle problem I was having. I replaced the plugs in the order that they were on the old cap but now the car idles harder than before. I can feel it miss a beat every few seconds or so. I checked the distributor cap and rotor. I know they need to be replaced but I dont understand how the car is running worse with new plugs. The plugs are Bosch brand and I was told equivalent to OEM. Suggestions?

Could be wrong gap and type or not firmly connected at both ends might consider changing the cap and rotor

I put the old plugs back in to see if I could get it to go back to acting how it had been and it is still rough. At the moment the only thing "new" on it is the wires. I know the cap and rotor could cause it to run this way but shouldn't it go back to how it was acting with the old plugs in?

I had a mechanic take a listen to it and he determined it was the first cylinder. I checked the plug and sure enough I cracked it at some point. Thanks for the help!
