1994 Jeep Cherokee Rough Idle when stopping

For the past couple of months my Jeep has had a low idle and shaking when I slow down my speed and come to a stop. It always restarts and when driving it runs great. It is an intermittent problem, but lately it has been more frequent. Yesterday the Check Engine light has started to come on. It goes out when I shut the Jeep down and doesn't come back until I have drive a while. Sometimes it doesn't even come back on.

I would recommend starting by cleaning the throttle body. It's easy to access, and a dirty idle air bypass could be causing the rough idle.

Some told me the other day that my EGR valve could be rusty and not opening and closing properly, any thoughts on that
