I’m preparing to change the rear brake pads. I’ve had problem in the past compressing the caliper on other models. Some have to be turned to compress due to the parking brake feature. Is there a “trick” I need to know on this car to get the brake caliper to compress to install the new brake pad?

Are you getting a check engine light on the car. I would check for code in the computer. Sounds like a sensor or a relay.

Sometimes you compress claier by opening the bleed screw ...when you compress calipers the fluid bleeds out. Make sure you replace the brake fluid you lost during compression by using a propoer bleed kit ( $10) ...So you get to compress calipers easily and change brake fluid at the same time..!!!
