I have taken my jaguar in for it's recommended servicing at each mileage period, including the most recent, the 100,000 mileage servicing.
Two weeks ago, the timing chain broke, and after the car was towed to the dealer (where I bought and did all the servicing), they said it would take about $5,000.00 to repair the timing chain, but they could not tell if anything else was broken. Therefore, we might anticipate up to $12,000.00 in repair bills.
Isn't the timing chain a recommended change at approximately 80,000 or 100,000 mileage servicing? If I did all the recommended servicing on the car, shouldn't changing the timing chain have been included in one of those recommended services I paid for?
