Every day or two I get a message on the dashboard that says " Traction Control not available" and then "ABS not working".

Once I shut the engine oiff for an hour or two, the message goes away. I notice that sometimes it comes on when I go over a bump.

Any idea as to the problem?

Thanks.

The two work together, so I will start by saying one is causing the other to come on. I would recommend having the computer scanned to determine where the problem is coming from. If the light was on, a trouble code should be stored in the computer. It will identify where the problem is coming from.

Many parts stores will scan it for free, so there shouldn't be any money out of pocket.

Let me know what you find. At this point, I would guess you have a loose connection at one of the ABS sensors or a damaged wire, but that is only a guess without a code.
