Scratchy noise as RPM's go up

Hi,

Is it possible for the metal pieces to have dropped into the oil catcher while you were working on the vehicle? If they were in the engine, most likely, they wouldn't be rusty because of the oil they were in.

Also, can you tell approximately where the sound is coming from? Is it loud enough for you to record on your phone and upload it for me to hear? Is the sound affected by engine speed or vehicle speed?
