1997 Isuzu Rodeo Question Everything shuts down when acceler

Driving at normal speeds or from stopped and then accelerate quickly - RPM's go to about 4,000. Everything shuts down and then comes back up - battery, brake and 4-wheel lights come on and stay on. The battery voltage then goes to maxed out. If I then come to a stop and try to go again the engine will rev but I don't go anywhere. I have to turn the car off and back on to get everything back to normal. Help

Hello !

Check the voltage at your battery and see if the altarnator its working right could be that the regulator its not working right and the voltage its fluctuating big time!

Check that first and replace the alternator if faulty because it could "kill" your ECM.
