Hi so last year I drove my ford probe gt from vancouver to Calgary about a 14 hour drive through the middle of the winter. I got to my destination completely fine and ive never had any previous problems with my car before I did this road trip. But I parked my car shortly after I arrived and I let it sit for one night. I go out to start my car and it wouldnt turn over so I figured the battery died so I took the battery in and had it check and recharged. It ended up being fine. So I figured my car should start, Brought it back plugged it in and it would crank over but not start. So I ended up going through about 4 mechanics to help me diagnose why my car wouldnt start but no one could come up with anything. Since then I had to leave it sitting for about a year and im just now starting to work on it again. But I went back to it and Its still doing the exact same thing. It cranks over fine and sounds like it wants to fire over but it just wont.

So heres what ive done to it for diagnostics to see what the problem could be so far -

Ive had it tested for compression, spark and fuel and its getting those 3 components that it needs
Ive hit the inertia switch to reset the fuel pump to make sure its getting fuel.
I completely took out the fuel filter and ran the fuel line straight incase of the filter being clogged
Ive pulled and checked some of the relays

So ive been through alot of the basic things that would occur with this problem but it seems to be alot more than that. One thing that I got told is that my timing belt could have jumped and that I could get it replaced repaired but I got told that it was an expensive job to do on my car so I dont wanna go ahead and spend the money on it if its not even the problem. Is there anything else I could do to figure out why my car wont start?
It cranks with full power but just will not fire. Also the a year ago when I drove it to calgary and it didnt want to start I had a mechanic tell me that the gas was bad in it and it smelled like diesel and so I thought I would have to get a fuel flush but then I took it to another mechanic and he said the fuel was fine and that it wasnt diesel. Im just including all the information I can in order to get a good reply. So yah the gas has been sitting for a year and I just put some octane booster in it aswell.

Do you have any codes in the computer? What is your actual fuel pressure?Do you have injector pulse to your injectors? You have a nice blue spark? What are your compression readings?

Under the carpet in the trunk on the driver side is a fuel cutoff switch ( on my 1994 prob gt its a red button) I had to press it to start my car after my alternator belt broke. Sometimes probes trigger that randomly though, mine had exactly the same problem as yours but luckily I found the switch a week later pressed it and my car started up perfectly. I hope this helped I love driving my probe!
