This is always a tough question because no two cars are going to be the same even if they are the exact same make and model.
So, the only thing we can do is advise you what to look at when looking at these vehicles and then make the best choice with that info. If it ends up having an issue and you did your homework, then unfortunately these things happen.
To start we need to see the maintenance history if possible. Basically, are there records showing the vehicle was maintained.
If not, then we need to check the coolant, transmission fluid, engine oil, and for a tune up like plugs and filters. Here are guides for all of this:

Next check the tires for wear which will indicate an alignment issue. See the chart below.
If all this checks out and the price is good, then I would buy it.
As for which one is better, that is up to you. All vehicles have potential issues but if you check the vehicle over and doesn't see any signs of an issue then I would not worry about other vehicles that had an issue. Clearly not all of a certain vehicle have an issue so you check for signs and then make the decision. However, you don't ignore it if it is bothering you. If the issues are giving you pause, then just avoid that car all together because you won't rest easy with it always being in the back of your mind. It is better to just pick a different vehicle.
Please run through this info and let me know if you have other questions. Thanks
