It is common for the A/C compressor clutch coil to go out which will cause the system to stop working. Here is the location of the compressor relay so you can check it out, also when the A/C stops working open the hood to see if the compressor clutch is turning. this guide can help and if so, there are guides to the diagrams below to help you fix the problem:

The compressor relay or A/C relay is located in the IPDM (intelligent power distribution module) and is not serviceable. I have seen this unit go out as well, so if the compressor clutch is not engaged you will need to check it for 12 volts, it is has none the IPDM is bad.
