I have a 99 chevy S10 pickup LS package and the V6 engine. When open the driver door none of interior light work, and there are some days that they will work. The lights for the instruments cluster do not work and the climate controls don't light up, except for the lighted up odometer and the transmission selector light that show you if you are in drive or reverse or what gear and the warning light along with the gauges work. There is no change when you turn the dimmer switch to the instruments cluster. If you do turn the dimmer switch to the on position all the interior lights come on. The head light switch turn on the head lights, running lights, and tail lights. These lights will remain on weather the switch is on auto, park, or on. I checked both fuse panels and each of the fuses were good. Some times I get a hum or some type of noise inside the dash. I hope you can help me. Jeff

Check the driver's side door jamb light switch to see if the TAN wire has power on it (at all times) and the ground wire provides a good ground. Operate the switch to make sure it connects and disconnects the ground and power wires. (Check the same things on the passenger side)

There is also a ground wire on the right side of the dash. It provides the ground for the I/P Compartment lamps.
