I have an issue with my dash where only the blinkers, security and service engine soon light come on. I do not believe any of the other gauge's work. However, if I press and hold the trip/reset button, all lights come on and gauges appear to work correctly. If I hold it down everything appears to work fine, until I let it go. I checked the power to the instrument cluster harness and the grounds, and everything seems to check ok. I have tried to check some fuses but haven't found anything bad yet. Any ideas on fixing this issue?

Yep, the instrument cluster circuit board has gone bad I would get a rebuilt unit by searching google or eBay. Here is how to sway the cluster out in the video below, it is a similar vehicle, but the procedure is the same.

Please go over this guide and get back to us. Also, here are the cluster wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Check out the images (below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Hi Ken,

I forgot to mention I thought that was an issue so I bought a replacement instrument cluster from ISS Automotive and put the whole unit in, but the problem was not corrected. So replacing the instrument cluster does not appear to be the issue.

Also, there are times when the truck itself does not start and I have to disconnect the battery to get it to start.

It could be a bad PCM, let's do a CAN scan to confirm the issue. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon

Here is a video to show you how:

Here is how to change the PCM out in case you need it. You can get a preprogrammed unit by searching Google or Ebay. Check out the images (below). Please let us know how it goes

I got a CAN scanner and was able to read the codes.

From powertrain I was all good with the ATC (Automatic Transfer Case) but had two faults under the Power Control Module (PCM). The codes were P0758 and P1860.
P0758 reads "2-3 shift solenoid control circuit"
P1860 reads "Torque Converter Clutch (TCC) Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) solenoid control circuit

Does this mean it's a bad PCM and I should replace that or is it another issue? And yes, I did reset the codes.
I am a bit confused if this is a transmission issue as the truck seems to drive fine.

I have seen random codes come up when the PCM goes bad. We can check the PCM wiring to confirm the power and ground inputs before replacing the PCM.
