The screen is blank and heater controls don't work, but the heater fan still blows at one speed only, radio doesn't work but does kick on sometimes but not for long, and when radio is playing the screen is still blank even the OnStar doesn't work. I checked the fuses and relays they seem good and disconnected battery for about 10 minutes. Does this sound like the radio needs to be replaced? Any help where to look would be appreciated.

I would disconnect the battery overnight to allow the system to reboot completely. Also, there is a blue connector under the dash behind the glovebox that comes loose.

Here is a video to show you how to fix it:

There are many modules that run the system that can be going out, I would run a CAN scan to see which codes are stored. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Here are the modules I have seen go out which can cause the issue. I also included the wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. Check out the images (below). Please upload pictures or videos in your response to the problem so we can see what's going on.

Thanks for your reply, I disconnected the battery overnight, didn't change anything. I checked the plug behind glove box seems fine, I then removed the infotainment part from dash, disconnect both plugs they both look good then made sure they were plugged in tight, still the same. I do have a code reader it shows code p0481 - (fan 2 control circuit) this code came a few days after this problem started, it seems to me it might be a power supply issue, even the OnStar is not working.

Thanks for the video, it helps. The code you have is for the engine, so it has nothing to do with the infotainment system. I would do a CAN scan which uses a different scanner but also let's check for power at these fuses, this guide can help us:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/how-to-use-a-test-light-circuit-tester

Then let's check the ground listed below as well. If that is all okay, it sounds like the radio control module is out but like i say I would like to see the results of the CAN scan. Check out the images (below). Let us know how it goes.

Thanks again for your help with this problem, the radio started to work last week but I can only control it with the steering wheel controls, I had it scanned at a garage which didn't show anything he then checked the grounds, all looked good, all I can think of is change the radio head (I think that's what it's called), any more suggestions would be appreciated.

Yep, that would be the next step, it sounds like it has an internal problem. You can get a rebuilt or used unit by searching ebay, please let us knowhow it goes.
