On our 2000 Infiniti QX4, our dealer has reported that our rear linkage is broken, which will cause the rear-end to be loose, especially at highway speeds. They say it's a safety issue and should be repaired immediately for about $1,100.

Questions:
1) What is the function of the rear linkage?
2) Does any of that sound out of line?

Hi wadesworld,

Thank you for the donation.

The rear suspension consists of many components such as arms and linkages and they are an integral part of the vehicle comfort and stability controls. They are definitely a safety issue but without knowing which parts requires replacement, it is not possible to provide you with the costing.

Did you get a written quotation regarding what parts needs to be replaced ?
