The software is from the factory web site. You would need an advanced scan tool and access to the manufacturers web site to perform an update.It would be cheaper to have someone perform this for you.

As far as performance, you will need to do some engine work such as throttle body and exhaust as a start. It will give some better performance but most will happen when you rebuild the motor and use different pistons and camshafts.

No, I would not recommend them. Most of them have no effect at all.
