How can I bypass a immobilizer on a Rover Metro?
My Metro's immobilizer seems to have come on the red alarm light on dash used to come on and horn would sound if tried to start it, but now the light does not come on and car will not start. I have ignition lights but starter will not turn.
I have tried taking battery out of fob and pressing it a number of times,
taking immobilizer out and disconnecting it then connecting it again.
I have ran a wire from battery to starter it starts for a few seconds.
I do not know what else I can try.

It sounds like you may have a fuse blown. Here is the security system wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works and which fuses to check:

Check out the diagrams (below). Please run this test and get back to us.

Hi, managed to check fuses they are okay. The only other thing I can think of is the immobilizer has fried.
Any other ideas/help?

Lets try a hard system reboot. Remove the negative batter cable and hold it to the positive battery terminal for one minute this will discharge the system capacitors and allow the system to reboot from scratch. Reconnect the battery to see what happens.
