Got it! Here's a polished version of your message for clarity:

I'm working on a 2006 Cadillac CTS, but it has a 2006 Cadillac CTS-V wiring harness for the steering column. The ignition switch has two resistor wires: one green and one tan. The green wire is connected to the harness, but the tan wire is loose, and I can't figure out where it should go.

I've seen images showing both the green and tan wires linked into the connector for the switch, but when I look at my connector, all the wire spots are already taken. This is confusing because the car is using the CTS-V harness and connectors, so the wire colors are different from the CTS.

As a result, the security theft system activates after the car runs for 2-3 minutes, and the temperature and gas gauges don't work. Can anyone help me figure out where the tan wire should be connected?

---

Thank you

I only see a brown wire headed from the ignition switch, here is the wiring diagrams and connector views for the giantions witch so you can get it connected correctly. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.

Sure, here's a revised version of your message:

---

I reconnected the brown wire to the switch connection, but the security light still came back on after about a minute of running. The gas and temperature gauges are still not working, and I'm at a total loss. I've checked all the wiring, redid every ground wire, inspected all the wires under the fuse box, and followed the wires from the BCM to the back fuse boxes to ensure there are no issues. I've also replaced every fuse in the engine compartment and both fuse boxes under the back seats. Despite all this, the car starts and runs fine, but the "Service Theft System" message is displayed on the radio screen, and the gauges are still not working. Any suggestions?
Respectfully Sunshine

Yes, I would do a CAN scan to see what codes are stored so we can address them directly. You can get a CAN scanner (Controller Area Network) which will work on most cars from Amazon.

Here is a video to show you how:

Please go over this guide and get back to us.
