I have the truck listed above that is being body converted, but I am using the stock s10 wiring harness and all components. Is there a chip in my key and if so, how would I be able to bypass that so I can use a custom switch plate for a push button start and all of that? This is going to be completely custom, but I want to keep it simple so I can do it myself. I have seen people say I need a resistor in the circut somewhere or that all I have to do is cut a yellow(?) Wire on the back of the ignition. I am trying to get professional input before I go chop everything up. Thanks

No chip in the key, that vehicle uses a Pass lock II system. It uses a common key but there is a sensor in the ignition lock housing that triggers when the magnet on the lock cylinder rotates to it. The sensor sends a signal to the body control module and the powertrain module, those are compared and if it's the correct signal the engine starts. This site might help you but I don't do any bypass methods, but you can try it if you like.
