If you turn traction esc off intentionally and remove the battery would the esc work normal when you reconnect the battery?

Hi,

Are you trying to do this to eliminate the malfunction or reset the system? If that is the case, no, it won't reset it.

If there is a traction control malfunction, oftentimes it is the result of a failing wheel speed sensor. By chance, is the ABS light on or any other light?

If you have a live data scan tool, you can drive the vehicle and compare the speed signals at each wheel. If there is a variation with one, that is the likely cause of the issue. If you want to check the sensors and don't have a live data scan tool, here is a link that explains how to check them:

Let me know if this is what is happening, if you have retrieved any diagnostic codes, or if you have additional questions.

Take care,

Joe
