Hello,
I would recommend against using a motor flush like Seafoam. The reasoning behind this is that with a classic vehicle like your's all the internal engine parts are worn into each other with oil soaked into little nooks and cranny's and gaskets that seal things. If you wash all that stuff out with an engine cleaner you are inviting trouble to these parts and gaskets that might fail, but would have been okay if it had not been used. I would also recommend against using this type of oil filter with a classic vehicle as well. Today's newer cars get away with extending oil changes out as far as 7,500 miles because they use a newer technology when they make the pistons for the newer vehicle's. They are called hypereutectic pistons and are better than cast, but not as good as forged. Hypereutectic pistons are made like cast pistons but they add about 15% silicone to the cast. This allows for more strength, but a tighter sealing side skirt that cuts down on blow-by, keeping the engine oil cleaner and that is what extends out they oil life on these cars. For a classic like yours (which is very cool) I would recommend sticking with changing your engine oil every three thousand miles.
Thanks,
Alex
