We recently received a down pour of rain last week and as a result of that our vehicle started making a deep humming noise as your are in drive. The noise isn't overbearing and can only be heard if the radio is lowered. If the car is placed in park, if you break, or place the vehicle in reverse the noise goes away. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Does the sound change when making turns? How deep was the rain water?

Its hard to tell it was just one spot in particular where it was a bit deeper. I think the highest the water may of got was 3/4 of the tire. I believe at times it makes a chirping noise when you turn the wheel initially. It doesn't make the chirping noise as much as the humming noise. Should we not be driving the vehicle. Is it a safety concern?

Honestly, I think one of the wheel bearings may have been damaged. I would start by checking them. As long as the sound isn't too loud, it shouldn't be dangerous.
