A few months ago, the car started shaking out of no where, and the check engine light came on. I noticed the coolant was low, and the engine oil seemed fuller than usual, so i thought it may be the head gasket (but there were no other symptems). I broght the car in, and was told it was just in need of a tune-up, and there was no leak. They topped of my fuilds, changed the oil, and it was fine since then. Now, the coolant is low again, but I can't find a leak. There is no coolant in the engine, on the floor, etc. Do you have any idea where the coolant could be going?

I have seen a few times where one of the smaller heater hoses behind/underneath the intake manifold develops a leak, and it is only leaking at high rpm (aka while driving due to higher pressure), and it will stop leaking when the vehicle is at idle.

The best way is to bring the vehicle in and have your technician perform a compression or a leak-down test, to check when the leak is going.

I have a tiburon 98, the engine light comes on while the car is idling, or after a fast drive, coming to a stop, like at a red light. When the car is idling in the mornings, the light doesnt come on since its cold, any ideas? sometimes going in 1st gear, the car shutter, or acts as if it wants to stall, then pressing more gas, its back to normal. I know the problem is around the throttle body area on the pic here. TPS? o2?

My dar was running okay the check engine light was on. I replaced plug wires, plugs, and sprayed the throttle body, and MAF sensor with cleaner. it started for a brief time then quit running. I let it sit for a half hour and it started right up but again it quit running. last night it started and seemed okay, then this morning would not even fire. I was wondering what to check first? I do not want to throw a bunch of unneeded parts in it. I guess I should have left well enough alone.

Scan for codes.

Rent borrow or buy a cheap scan tool, since you probably cannot make it to an auto parts store (where this service is usually free).

YouTube is a good place to see how to use the particular one you obtain.

Write down the code numbers (exactly) You may have more than one code.

Return here, we will try to interpret what they mean and offer ideas as to what the check/ repair/ replace.

Hello, 763MAD

Here is a link that if you decide to conduct the scan yourself will be of help to you. The link features an article with written step by step instructions and pictures explaining how to do the scan yourself, also I have included a link to our YouTube channel with a how to video on code scanning.

This is applicable even if your check engine light is not on.

Most scanners are inexpensive to purchase, you can purchase one online from sites like Amazon.com

I have a code reader it was showing P0300, P0302, P0304, P0310, so I unplugged the map sensor it started right up, then plugged it back in while it was running, seems to run fine now , no check engine light, no codes yet , it is weird , but I hope it keeps going the way it is running now, thanks
