One explanation could be that the oil is too heavy and I believe it should be 5w30. Is the oil up to the full mark? After that, look at the belts, watch the pulleys, etc. Is there anything rubbing? I have seen a car that the harmonic balancer was slightly loose and rubber on plastic making the tic noise until the plastic got warm and soft. Determine whether it is actually coming from inside the engine or is external to the engine.
