I drive a 2001 Hyundai Elantra with about 74,000 miles on it. Just the other day I walked out and my battery was dead, so I attempted to jump it. It didn't work. I ended up replacing the battery, and had it checked. The car wasn't even charging with the new battery, but I was able to get that taken care of. Since then, my car has been shifting funny. Before taking it in to get checked out again, my check engine light came on. I took it in to a mechanic, and he determined it was my catalytic converter. It is shifting better now, but the check engine light came back on.
I am up for an oil change, but nothing like this has happened before.
What's the problem? Any suggestions?
