my car was stolen over the weekend and recovered the next day. The beam along the driverside of the windshield was bashed in pretty good and the windshield is cracked up. The auto shop that i use is wanting to cut out that piece and weld in a piece from a junk yard car to make the repair. Is this safe? I am feeling very uneasy about this.
This is a 03 Hyundai Elantra GLS with 87K miles.
thanks

I would not feel too bad about that being done as long as it is done properly. There really isn't much else they can do for a repair that makes any sense with that area of the car. I wouldn't worry too much.
