The same thing happened to my 2003 elantra. DONT buy platinum spark plugs tho. I did thinking I was doing something nice for my car, the car ran fine for 1 day then they started burning up again. I looked at a few forums, and learned that kias and hyundais run too hot for platinums. The dealership said to buy NGK and they have worked ever since for maybe 2 years. Im about to replace them again. Hyundai also said the stock plugs should last 100,000 miles YEAH right! This will be the third time in 4years at 92,000.
Hope this made sense
well good luck
Becky
