I had a new timing belt and water pump replaced. Then my car started making noice. They said they left air in the power steering pump. And fixed. The noice continued, Now they say the power steering pump needs replaceing. Could air in the power steering pump and lines break it? If you drove it like that for 11 days?

If you drove without PS fluid for 11 days, yes it could cause a problem to the pump.

I just replaced a PS pump on my Hyundai Elantra. The dealer quoted me $600.00 plus $200.00 for installation plus taxes. I removed my failed pump in less than 5 minutes and replaced the bearing and 2 seals in the pump for a total cost of $12.00. The rebuilt pump is whisper quiet and working like a charm.
