Hello,
My car has overheated 3 times in 6 months. I have taken it to STS- this being the 3rd time. I feel like they are not fixing the problem and I am getting ripped off. I told them to hold off a day on fixing my car (because I want to seek help about this situation). I'm a single woman who is now spending $1500 on a problem that is continuously happening and they don't know why.

October 2007-
Water pump replacement
Thermostat replacement
Thermostat gasket replacement
Coolant replacement

Thermostat replacement
Thermostat gasket replacement
Coolant replacement

NOW-
They are recommending a new water pump again (the sealant on the water pump currently has a leak and they said they have to repair that in order to see where the problem is coming from). They told me that I have to pay for labor but they will give me the water pump and the coolant for free. The fee $300 labor fee they want to charge me is not doing me any favors when I feel they should have looked into this the very 1st time. How can I resolve this with the mechanics without feeling like I'm being ripped off?

Hi mongunther,

When the water pump was replaced, the sealant was not proper applied resulting in the leaking and causing the overheating.

If they had provided a warranty for the job and if it is still valid, you should get the job done for free.
