I own a hyundai coupe GK. 2003 mod 1.6 liters engine type ALPHA 2 G4GR,
When I change clutch set, pressure plate, clutch disc and bearing I notice a vibration during idle and also between 2.500 to 5000 revolutions.
It isn’t engine mounts, I thing that the valeo pressure plate must be unbalanced.
Im going to open the tranny again and go for balance the flywheel and the pressure plate together.
I what to ask, is that engine internal balance or external balance?
Because if it is external balance, I must leave flywheel as it is, balancing only the pressure plate.
Thanks George from Greece.

Engine balancing is done with crank and flywheel attached (often but not always ) and set up and balanced together, I doubt that this is your problem, if the fly wheel is loose or the pressure plate is loose (or faulty) bell housing not tight and sitting square on the mating face of the block, I would expect to feel vibration in the clutch pedal as well. Remove clutch and inspect all components carefully as they come out and make note if all bolts are tight and components are fitting correctly.

Thank you, for your fast reply.
Except the vibration, clutch mechanism is working perfectly, I was in front of the mechanic watching all the installation procedure.
Next week I'm going to uninstall flywheel and pressure plate, taking those for balancing.
My question is, should I balance flywheel to zero, or leave it as it is.
Because I'm thinking leave it as it is, and zero balance the pressure plate.
Another think that I notice, is that the vibration is there with the pressure pedal pressed or not pressed!

If you wish to head down the road of balancing, I would get the flywheel and clutch done as a unit, then there is no error involved.

FINALY valeo clutch was unbalanced 4.7 grams out and flywheel 0.66 grams, all together as a unit machine down to 0.26 grams,
NO vibration any more for my Hyundai Gk.
