2003 Hyundai Accent 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic

I own a 2003 Hyundai Accent that recently every time it rains starts to run very rough. Once the conditions start to dry up the problem stops. This morning it was raining and the car would not start. Can you tell me where to start looking for this problem? Thanks.

Hi:
The first things I would replace would be the plugs, wires, and distributor cap and rotor. They are the things that can be affected by dampness the easiest.

Let me know if this helps.

Thank you for your response. I went home the night I submitted my question (the car is my wife's) and tried to start it with no success. I opened the hood and had my wife turn iy over and got a light show. I replaced the wires and plugs (there is no cap or rotor) and it fired right up. We haven't had rain but are expecting some tomorrow. From your comments I am more confident that there will be no problems. Thanks again.

Dave:
I'm glad you found it. That sounds like both what I expected and what will take care of the problem.

If you have other problems, let me know.
