2003 Hyundai Accent 4 cyl Automatic 100000 miles

This past week I have noticed a clicking noise only when accelerating. It is almost like running a stick through bicycle spokes.

Also the car squeals alot. It happens when you first start it and as well as when I am driving. It is worse in colder weather and quits if you depress the gas pedal. I had the belts changes but it made no difference. Any Ideas? Thanks!

For the clicking noises, have the cv joints checked. As far as the squealing noise, have the repair shop readjust the alternator belt. Chances are the belt has stretehed and is slipping at start up.

Thanks for the reply. The squealing did turn out to just be my belt but the clicking actually ended up being my Transmission. Thank goodness I didn't have to foot the bill for it!

What did they find wrong with the trans? I'm sure others are having the same problem and it would be nice to have it posted here.

If you don't mind, let me know.

Thanks,
Joe

What happened was a few months prior to the problem, I had brought my car in for an oil change and the guy who did it actually drained my transmission fluid and replaced it with engine oil. The mistake was corrected almost right away, but it had already done enough damage.
