My car's computer triggers the Check Engine Light with a code of PO446A Evaporator Vent Ctrl Malfunction. I have had two auto shops tell me this code relates to air conditioning, which would be an error because my car does not have air conditioning and never had air conditioning.
The result is the Check Engine Light stays on all the time, couple of years now.
This was not a problem until I moved to North Carolina where vehicle inspections are mandatory.
Is this code related to air conditioning? If not, what is it related to and how can I get this problem fixed for good?
(Someone suggested it may be related to the gas tank cap, but I have replaced the cap twice with no change).
Thanks!
