I changed my heater core and I am in the process of putting it all back together. My problem is the HVAC cables. I cannot get them clipped in place and I do not remember which cable goes to which control knob. Example: air direction, temperature, and fan speed.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

The cables are color coded. Here are the directions. I attached a picture of where they go. I hope it helps.

HEATING AND A/C CABLES, AT CONTROL HEAD
Heating And A/C Cables, Installing

NOTE:
- Cable sleeve ends are color coded.
- Check cables before installing and replace binding or damaged cables.
- All air flaps must audibly move onto end stops when turning controls.

1 - Central flap cable
- From air distribution rotary control to central flap
- Cable sleeve marking: Black
2 - Foot-well/defrost flap cable
- From air distribution rotary control to foot-well/defrost flap
- Cable sleeve marking: White
- Replacing:
- Remove controls for heating and A/C system
- Remove driver side shelf
- Unclip cable at heater/evaporator unit.
- When installing, attach cable to heater/evaporator unit first.
3 - Heating and A/C controls
4 - Temperature flap cable
- From temperature rotary control to temperature flap
- Cable sleeve marking: Red

I hope this is helpful. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
Joe
