Okay, guys, please help me out, my truck cranks and runs great when the engine is nice and cool and will continue to run great until I turn it off and wait about 25 to 30 minutes and start it back up and it will go into a hunting idle. I have changed fuel injectors, MAF sensors, 02 sensors, camshaft sensor, checked for vacuum leaks and repaired. What I found, code p1132 is the absolute only code it throws and is a rich code but from what I have read it's compensating for an over lean condition. Guys, I'm at my wits end with this. Also, that code will only throw when I'm driving not idling, and feels like it is under a load 75% of the time some days it runs perfectly others it struggles, and the with the A/C on it has a very hard time accelerating, has a surging type of acceleration.

Hi,

You replaced basically everything that can cause it. However, have you checked the fuel pump pressure? Low or high pressure can cause this. If you haven't checked it, here is a link that explains how it's done:

If you look below, I attached the manufacturer's pressure specifications.

Let me know what you find.

Joe

Okay, fuel pressure was fine now yesterday morning it just about stalled on me idling and it through a code for the IAC valve I replaced it that day idle seem a lot better until it get started again when already warm. Do you think an ECT sensor could be sending wrong signals to the ECM and adjusting my air fuel ratio?

Hi,

Does it continue running normally if warm and not just started? Also, the ECT will require a live data scan tool to check if it is sending the correct signal. Do you have one or access to one?

Also, when you replaced the IAC, did you confirm there was no dirt or carbon where it mounts to the throttle body?

Let me know.

Once the engine is started warm it will hunt, but after I give it a little gas It will eventually level out, but it constantly feels like it's under a load. Yes, I can get access to a scan tool and also checked everything when changed IAC valve.

Also, I forgot to mention where the up pipe bolts to the manifold I cannot get it to seal so I have a little gap there both upstream sensor have been replaced, but the code that stays on constant is a p1132. Could that be the culprit? Also, I can make the hunting idle stop by removing the fuse that controls the hego sensor but can leave it unplugged because it also controls 9ther things.

I didn't realize there was an exhaust leak. Yes, that can affect how the oxygen sensors are reacting.

Is the manifold leaking at the engine as well?

Let me know.

No, I don't believe the manifold is leaking. I didn't know 92 sensors would cause that problem.

Any time there is an opportunity for fresh air to get into the exhaust flow pre-sensor, it can cause issues.

What is preventing it from sealing?

Well, the engine has been changed same exact engine just from a different truck, but the cats were already taken off. So, what I'm guessing is someone cut the cats maybe an inch too short and there is about a 1 inch of a gap there where it won't seal because the y pipe hits the bottom of the oil pan.

Is that what it's doing when the engine is cold and started up runs fine, but when it's warm and start it warm it hunts guessing it's running an open loop. When cold and when started warm it's trying to run in a closed loop, but the excess oxygen is preventing it?

Hi,

I have a feeling that is the cause. The O2 sensors are being flooded with fresh air, especially if it is a one-inch gap.

I'm not sure of the modifications made, but that needs to be sealed. If it requires fabrication, find someone that is a good welder, cut the pipe, and weld in an extension so you are able to pull it tight.

Let me know.
