Here's the removal instructions. Sorry, there's no drawings related to this procedure.
1. Disconnect battery ground cable.
2. Remove wire terminal connector from starter.
3. Disconnect steering column shaft coupling from steering gear and
position aside.
4. Remove starter-to-bellhousing attaching bolt and nut.
5. Move starter forward to clear bellhousing, then lift starter upward and
remove from vehicle.
6. Reverse procedure to install torquing attaching bolts to 50 ft. Lbs.
One thing I'll add is if there is an air bag on the steering wheel, it is critical the steering wheel not be rotated while the steering shaft is disconnected from the steering gear. Doing so will wind or unwind the ribbon cable inside the clock spring assembly, then it will be off-center by one or more turns. That cable is only long enough to accept the steering system being turned full-left to full-right, and little more. If the cable winds up too tightly in one direction, it will tear apart instantly. If it unwinds too far the other direction, it will fold over on itself and break apart in a few days or weeks. I use a rubber strap through the steering wheel to prevent it from turning until I can reconnect the shaft.
