Specific to your car is that the alarm is a different system that the immobilizer. The common problems are a bad transponder key, bad transponder receiver, and bad connections. One way you can sometimes tell if it is the immobilizer is to watch the check engine light. Turn the key on, all the dash lights should come on and the CEL will be on. If it goes out as soon as the other lights do at the end of the bulb test, the immobilizer has a fault and will not allow the engine to start. That would mean taking it to a dealer so they can scan the system to locate which part is bad. Many of them require programming that they can do.
