How do I refit the small belt on fan

Large belt broke forcing small belt off. How do I refit it? Small belt refit.

Hi and thanks for using 2CarPros. Com.

The belt has to be manually adjusted. On the power steering pump, there is a pivot bolt and an adjuster bolt. Loosen the pivot bolt and then loosen the adjuster bolt so the belt can be reinstalled. One it is on, tighten the adjuster to add tension to the belt. When the belt it again tight, tighten the pivot bolt. Here are the directions from Alldata. The two pictures correlate with these directions.

COOLING FAN BELT

[G16 and H25 engines]
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2. Loosen P/S pump drive belt adjusting bolt and then remove P/S pump belt.
3. Loosen adjusting bolt and pivot bolt.
4. Slacken belt by displacing generator and then remove it.

INSTALLATION
1. Install belt to water pump pulley, crankshaft pulley and generator pulley. Install P/S pump drive belt.
2. Adjust belt tension as specified.
3. Tighten adjusting bolt and pivot bolt.
4. Connect negative cable at battery.

[J20 engine]
REMOVAL
1. Disconnect negative cable at battery.
2. Loosen adjusting bolt and pivot bolt.
3. Slacken belt by displacing fan pulley.
4. Remove cooling fan. Just detach the fan/clutch from fan pulley.
5. Remove cooling fan belt.

INSTALLATION
1. Install belt to fan pulley and crankshaft pulley.
2. Install cooling fan.
3. Adjust belt tension as specified.
4. Tighten adjusting bolt and pivot bolt.
5. Connect negative cable at battery.
