The horn only works with the fob. It does not work on the steering wheel when pushed. All other features on the steering wheel work fine. Cruise, radio etc. Fuse is good, relay good. No warning lights on. I hope it is not the clock spring. What else could it be?

Hi,

We know the horn is good, the relay is working, and the fuse is good. That leaves three things, the horn switch, cable reel (clock spring), or a wiring problem. If I had to guess, I would say the clock spring. Does the cruise control work? If not, that adds to that being the problem.

If you look below, I attached a pic of the horn's wiring schematic.

What I suggest is to check the horn switch before replacing the clock spring. If you look at the remaining pictures, I included directions for testing specific to this vehicle. Let me know if it is something you feel comfortable doing. These directions also check the clock spring (cable reel).

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Yes, the cruise works fine on the steering wheel. I will have someone check out these other issues. Thank you

Hi,

The cruise goes through the clock spring as well. If it works, then the spring is likely not the issue. Chances are it's the switch, relay, or an open circuit.
If you have the opportunity, please let me know what is found. I'm interested in knowing.

Take care,

Joe
