I just recently purchased this car and one thing I noticed after I bought it is when you first start up and drive the car the performance is exellent and feels like it should but after a couple of minutes of normal driving or after I rev high and switch into another gear (seems to make it even more hesitant) at high rpms I begin to feel a slight hesitation and then it picks up to normal again. I spoke with a mechanic and he said it could be either a bad distributor or bad clutch but I was wondering if it could possibly be something else. Remember it doesnt hesitate when I first start driving. I appreciate any help you can give. Thanks

Hi hiphopr721,

There are many possblities and following are a few that are possible reasons.

1. Distributor. Ignition coils sometimes fails when they heat up.
2. Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor, works with temperature and good when cold.
3. Fuel pump.

Clutch would not be likey, as the symptoms would be slipping when accelerating, not hesitation.
