1987 Honda Prelude Keep or not

I have a 1987 Honda Prelude SI, it has 206,000 miles the engine is untouched except for maintenance. The A/C Compressor froze up and needs to be replaced and the other A/C parts that you change when this happens to a tune of $950.00 which is more than the car is worth. It still runs great and gets good MPG doesn't leak or burn oil. I need A/C living in So. Cal but am afraid if I spend this kind of money that other parts will fail. It still has a lot of OE parts ie. fuel pump, alternator, starter, master cylinder etc.
