Honda Element AWD noise

2003 Honda Element EX, automatic trans. with ~80,000 mi. I am experiencing significant noise in the front end when making tight radius turns. It sounds like the AWD system is binding somehow or is engaged all the time. Am I low on fluids or is there a mechanical problem?

Well I would first crawl under the vehicle and look at the CV boots to see if any of them are torn, ripped or cracked. If they or one are chances are that the axle will need to be replaced. Does it do it in each direction?
