My car makes a whinning noise at 45 to 50 MPH. Stops after that and continues again at 75 to 80 MPH. What is it?

Hi whiner,

Does the noise continue or disappears when shifting to neutral?
Is the noise pitch similar both at 45 to 59 mph and 75 to 80 mph?

Symptoms indicates the noise is possibly from the transmission.
