Dear Sir,

My 2006 Honda civic fd1 automatic transmission has a vibrating problem. It has 50000km on it. Today when I start engine it vibrates badly in Park gear position. And when I put gear to Reverse and neutral positions the vibrating same. But drive positing no vibrate coming. When I start engine again in few minutes, then vibrating lower in Park, Neutral gear positions, when compared to today first start vibrate. But in Reverse position it vibrates same. This vibrating problem came today suddenly.

Please let me know where could be the problem.

Thanks
Sampath.

When coolant temperature is below operating temperature at cold start, the cold start system would increase the engine idling and during this time when transmission is engaged, it would tend to surge forward or backwards depending on which gear is used.

If the Check Engine Light is indicating, get a scan done to retrieve for trouble codes. After warming up if the idlign speed is higher than normal, check for vacuum leaks.

Ensure coolant level in radiator is correct.

Hi KHLow2008,

Check Engine Light is not indicating, After warming up idlign speed is normal (7000RPM). And coolant level in radiator is correct.

When I start the engine, it goes 1500RPM and go down to 1000RPM in 1minuite time.

Thanks,
sampath

Symptoms indicates everything seems to be normal at cold start and after warming up.

When gears are engaged with rpm more than 1000 rom, the vehicle would tend to surge forward unless the brakes are applied. The only thing you need to do is to wait for a minute for the idling speed to drop before attempting to drive.
