My civic had a water pump pulley failure, the pump hub broke off, which was covered by a recall and still under warranty. I drove the car about a mile with the serpentine belt broken which caused the check engine light to come on with these codes. The dealer replace the water pump, pulley and belt under the recall and warranty but says the codes have nothing to do with this problem. While I disagreed with them they would not do anything without a charge to me. I stopped by my local NAPA store and tried to reset the codes but they will not reset with their device. I beleive the computer got a little confused when this problem happened, I would like to clear the codes and see if they come back. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Its a 1.8 liter gas burner.

P0135 is a malfunction with your 02 sensor and P0498 is the EVAP canister vent shut valve circuit low voltage. You probably have a vacuum line that is off under the hood and you have an O2 sensor heater that is out. After changing them and fixing the vacuum line clear the codes.
